The Starry Eyed Poet Let us talk of things been written, Let us talk of of a womans charms, And hapless men been by it smitten, Let us speak not of fictional gossip heard, Let us speak of the profound message The one of a bleeding poets written word. Let us speak of his courage, The bleeding poet cares not if those who read be slighted, He stands over the blank page, His pen roars! It shall never quieted! The bleeding poet writes of the womans mystique, He will also pen stories that frighten, Fills a patron with horror when the bleeding poet writes of the night, How he bleeds, his work darkened and lightened! He will write of battles fought, His pen will tell of a vultures feast of carrion, He will pen of his helpless love of beauty, His desire and of his endless passion!
