The State of Tennessee is wearing a costume and mask parading through our public schools system dressed as a character called Achievement School District. They are knocking on the doors of our Shelby County School Board and saying Trick or Treat. Well......The treat is they are cherry picking through our schools and picking the ones they want by claiming that these schools are in line for state takeover. They are not picking from the bottom of list, but they are picking from the top and middle of the list. In fact they are picking schools that were scheduled to come off the list and are trending with significant progress. The Trick is that we can not do anything about it. They are choosing these schools in the Northwest and Southest quadrants of our county. That tells me that they are trying to keep them together. Eventually they will set up Charters in these schools and simply manage the charters. In essence..... they are creating a new school system that you and I have no control over, and where we do not vote on the Board members. WAKE UP ! Your money, your votes, and your right to choose how your children are being educated are being taken away and you do not even see it.
