The State of the Union --- From a Professional Neutrals - TopicsExpress

The State of the Union --- From a Professional Neutrals Perspective... I just read the article below (posted by my good friend Casey Sears, who voted for Obama, twice). It is extremely well worded and nicely put together. It calmly, and precisely explains why President Obama has fallen short on multiple campaign promises and objectives. But most importantly, it explains why he will likely fall notably short throughout the remainder of his presidency. It is painfully accurate, regardless of which party one tends to follow. Not once does the author (an African American political analyst) call the President Hitler, a dictator nor utilize any other derogatory reference. Name-calling and juvenile antics are annoying, asinine and a complete waste of time. Any credibility ones argument may have is instantly destroyed the second these types of antics are employed. The article specifically references how the President has and will likely continue to futilely battle Congress. Which is why he is failing as a leader. The President has adopted the notion that he is going to make people concede to his will, namely Congress. No compromise. No negotiation. Hes going to do it with, or without Congress support. No. He wont. Our system, namely our Constitution, simply wont allow it. His tactics are becoming thug-like. His methods are increasingly narcissistic, divisive, and counterproductive. Not because his ideas are necessary bad or misguided. But rather, because our system does not allow for unilateral rule. Whether or not EITHER party thinks they are justified or on the side of right, is strictly immaterial. You dont get to make unilateral decisions within our system. Period. There is no question that Republicans have had a host of problems and shortcomings over the years. Buckets of them. Hell, theyre currently infighting and debating this very fact. However, every-time I now hear Democrats speak and argue their points, the title Animal Farm constantly flashes through my head. Democrats have become EVERYTHING they hated, and fought against. The fight again oppression that catapulted Obama into office, has become the driving force behind the entire Democratic Party. Just as this mentality failed the Republicans beginning in 2008, it will now fail the Democrats moving forward. GC Hutson Oh, and for the record... Washington needs more mediators, and less politicians.
