The Stop & Shop in the Kmart Plaza needs to be watched. Around 6:00 pm tonight they had four self-serve check-out lanes open and only two human staffed check-out aisles open. Guess which aisles had the longest lines? I asked nicely the first time about opening more aisle and my request was politely ignored. After several more minutes of frustration I then shouted a little louder at the man on the second level overlooking the check-out area. There were many people working at the store and the manager in the booth on the second level was ignoring the length of the lines. I yelled Its dinner time and people are trying to get home quickly. After several more minutes two other employees arrived and opened up additional check-out lanes. Since moving back to Holyoke, Ive noticed the Stop and Shops here do not work as hard at providing a plesant shopping experience as the Big Y in South Hadley, or the Stop and Shop in Enfield, Northampton, or West Springfield. It may be time to have our local representatives speak to the corporate office about their local stores.
