The Story behind this Video; Courageous, One Marines Story He was 15 years old when he decided to serve our country. His father “Blas Olona” sighed for him and sent him off with his blessing. While in Boot camp Pearl Harbor was attacked. Graduating out of Boot Camp Joe B. Olona was too young to be shipped out along with his fellow marines on their first campaign. His orders were for him to be shipped out on the next campaign. Ever Marine on the first campaign was killed. Joe B. Olona went on fighting all the islands till he reached the total amount of campaigns allowed. Joe B. Olona was in the front lines. Fighting the Japanese, His weapon of choice, a (B.A.R.) Browning Automatic Rifle. His story is too long to write, but his first experience; The Marines hit the beach, “I ran to the shore carrying two 5 gallons of gasoline. Bullets were coming from everywhere. I saw a manhole and jumped in for cover. To my surprise there were two Dead Japs in there. The first thing I thought about, GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE !! I took off and left the two 5 gallons of gasoline in there. “ He really never talked about what killings that went on. To this very day he still struggles to put those battles behind him. Now at 90 years old. 100% disabled, Joe B. Olona served his country bravely, and with no regrets. He says if he had to do it again, he would be the first on out there. All I can say. His bravery on the battlefield for four years has been passed down to his family, Eloy and Gerald Olona during Viet Nam. Carl Joseph Olona and Virginia Soto along with her husband Mickey Soto also came along. They also heard the calling. They also severed their time. Out of their experience, they have their disabilities, their battle scares, their storys. No matter what wrong choice they mad during their life, they will always be remembered by their children and their grandchildren as brave fighting men and women who will not allow this country to be taken by no outside or inside force.
