The Story of Our National Anthem as told by an American. A few quick facts: 1. There is no proof that I can find anywhere that George Washington said the quote that the author credited him with about five minutes in. If someone finds proof of that, Id appreciate it. 2. F.S. Key wrote the poem about the bombardment of the fort during The War of 1812, NOT the American Revolution as most folks believe. 3. The Star Spangled Banner wasnt our national anthem until 1931!
