The Story of Pinocchio Pinocchio was puppet made of wood. He was carved by woodcarver named Geppetto. Geppetto had no child of his own. Pinocchio is so beautiful that he wished he would come alive. During the night Little Fairy touched Pinocchio and he came alive. Pinocchio had no conscience, he did not right from wrong. Little Fairy gave him a cricket to be his companion and conscience. In the morning Geppetto was so happy to have a son of his own. He decided to send Pinocchio to School. On the way to School Pinocchio met a Drama Group. They asked him to join them. The cricket told him not to but Pinocchio did not listen. In the evening time Pinocchio wanted to go home but the Drama leader locked him in a cage. In the night Little Fairy came to him and asked him what had happened. He said bandits locked him up. At that Pinocchio’s nose began to grow longer. The more lies he told the longer his wooden nose became. Little Fairy released him from the cage. Pinocchio promised that henceforth he would always listen to cricket’s advice.
