The Straits Crimes #216 Proposal: Reduce Ministers Salaries by Negligible Amounts Every Year Singaporeans have applied the water-tight PAP-patented theory that small, regular changes will not at all affect people to ministerial salaries and proposed that ministers salaries should be reduced by the same percentage as transport fare increments every year. For a start, the salaries of ministers should be reduced by 2.8% this April and backdated reductions should be made all the way back to 2001. It is believed that, just like people can take small increments to transport fares that eat into their income, ministers can also go through the pay cuts without feeling a difference. Of course, we are humane about it. If any minister earns below 30% of what the US President earns, we will make concessions. In such cases, the minister will get a supplementary monthly allowance pegged to the lowest NSF allowance, clarified one of the Singaporeans making the proposal.
