The Straya Day - Fair Dinkum Ripper Jackaroo/Jillaroo Ride (149KM mystery tour) Come cycle a quality piece of Terra Nullius with me including sweeping views of the bush, Hawkesbury river and some good old mountain climbing fun. The mountain were climbing is also aptly named Mount White :) Celebrate the granting of a public holiday by Auntie Betty to commemorate the landing of the first boat people! This ride will have it all departing at 7.00AM on Monday at the Woolahra Gates of Centennial Park well go to Calga and return stopping for Aussie favourites including fish and chips, meat pies and gelato (because we have to make a token nod to multiculturalism somewhere) ... ;) Feel free to bring yourself, friends, hungover or sober styled by Pannier West. Come to this ride hungry as I assure you... Youll leave full!! The trip plan: 1. Depart Centennial Park and weave through the city to the Harbour Bridge via Clarence St 2. Cycle along the Pacific Highway then take the Old Pacific Highway snaking all the way to Calga and avoiding the Pacific Motorway (M1 freeway) 3. Well cross the Brooklyn Bridge over the Hawkesbury which has an awesome view 3. Turn around at the old ruins of the Calga General Store 4. Visit Fitzies Fish and chip shop at the Brooklyn Marina 5. Visit Pie in the Sky Bakery in Cown on the way back 6. Gelato Messina in Surry Hills 7. Return to the park PS - Fitzies to me is a place near and dear to my heart. My parents use to run that chippy in the 70s and because of it, they went through uni, I went through uni and now I have lots of bikes to cycle around with you lions and am able to dress like a Hubbard.
