The Strom Thurmond Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse, located on Assembly Street in Columbia, is a three-part ensemble consisting of an office tower, lower courthouse, and a broad plaza which were completed in 1979. It is significant under Criterion C as a local example of the Brutalist architectural style designed by architect Marcel Breuer. Listed in the National Register on September 10, 2014.
