The Stump City Ramblers put the sloppy right smack into the wet and pulsating seconds down at The Heritage Grill last Monday evening. I sang like ISIS was about to give me a Baghdad haircut, reaching for the top notes and missing by a good semi-tone or three. Its a rare and video-worthy moment when I manage to sing sharp. I gave it my best sloppy shot... Brother Gregg Gorrie shows up at the beginning of the clip like he just started his shift, quietly and diligently helping the boys get organized. Thats our Sherriff. He put the H back into humble. And of course brother Rod Were, head way up there in the clouds, well he and I blessed the small but appreciative group at the HG with F bombs and, for my money, just a god-blessed loose and lovely version of his great song Blue Collar Luxury. We dont stand on formality or perfection. Well leave that act to Beyonce for heavens sake. All I know is that when I play music with these boys I feel happy for the time the strings are vibrating.
