The Sultan in Space Bismillahi r-Rahmani r-Raheem Mawlana once was giving suhbat at the Green Lanes Dergah one Ramadan, and he began speaking about space. Then he said, “there is no astronaut who went into space except I was there.” And then laughing he pulled out his little diary book, and in it pulled out a yellowed piece of newspaper, neatly cut. It was in English and was dated 1962. It relate how the 2nd American in space, Gordon Cooper, was looking out the window of his spacecraft and saw a green light, moving around his ship. And Mawlana grinning broadly said, “that was me.”
