The Summit and how it came about: Four years ago, Varsity was inspired by the talent within the All Star industry and listened to its customers when they asked for a high caliber event that recognized teams in non-world divisions. While the International All Levels Championship was highly successful, we realized these extraordinary teams needed to be showcased on a grandeur level. After considering feedback from customers, we committed and invested in a new definitive all levels championship. The Summit was solely created to provide a unique opportunity for the very best youth, junior and senior teams in non-Worlds divisions to face-off in a live competition. In May 2013, Varsity All Star hosted the first annual Summit competition at the Walt Disney World Resort® in Orlando, FL. The overwhelming amount of enthusiasm, support and participation from those who believed in The Summit this past season helped it become the most prestigious and truest national championship! LIVE ON /ESPN3 2014! Varsity is awarding 100 paid bids and 375 at-large bids at 40 of our premier events across the country. Bids to The Summit, both Paid and At-Large, shall be awarded at the sole discretion of each Varsity Brand Event Producer. While the following guidelines must be taken in to consideration, ultimately, Brands may award bids to whomever they choose.1.Generally, bids will be awarded to First Place teams. 2.Bids will be awarded evenly, to the extent possible, across levels. Teams holding an At-Large Bid may be upgraded to a Paid. The At-Large Bid will then be released and passed down. Storm Allstar Cheerleading was proud to receive a bid to the first annual Summit competition in May, 2013. In response to that invitation, Storm Allstar Cheerleading Team Twisters placed 1st and became National Champions in their division. Team Twisters received their Summit rings at a private ceremony at Storm Allstars Gym along with their families.
