The Sundargarh district administration has made all arrangements to run six city buses in three routes in the steel city soon under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) Initially six buses in three routes (Bisra-Jhirpani, Rourkela-Rajgangpur and IGH-Biramitrapur) will run and minimum fare would be five rupees. Six buses have already reached the city. A corpus fund with the contribution of Rs3 lakh by the Rourkela Municipal Corporation, Rs2 lakh each by Biramitrapur Municipality, Rajgangpur Municipality, Rourkela Development Authority and Rs1 lakh by the RSP would be made to provide better services to the people. The Rourkela Municipal Corporation Commissioner was entrusted to take decision on bus stop spots and fare. The other officers were also asked for making arrangement for bays, lighting and parking. .
