The Sunnah is for dua to be done individually and in private. Duas made during Sajdah or at the night of Tahajjud are usually the most sincere and most likely to be accepted. Ask yourself when was the last time you utilized Sajdah as an opportunity for Dua? Allah is closest to us when we are in Sajdah and the Prophet (peace be upon him) would spend so much time in Sajdah making dua that his wife Ayesha would have to check if he was okay. Dua is something we should establish as a regular habit. If you have a goal, you should be making dua for assistance in accomplishing that goal every day. If you want something, make dua for it. If you are not making dua for something, it shows that you don’t really want it that badly, or haven’t understood the power of dua.
