The Supreme Court has proposed to the BCCI that Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals should not be part of IPL 7 and Sunil Gavaskar be made interim President of BCCI in place of N Srinivasan.The apex court has also said that any person associated with India Cements will not be involved with BCCI. The Court has asked BCCI to come up with its response on the proposals tomorrow when it will pass interim order on IPL spot fixing and betting case. Supreme Court was today hearing the IPL spot fixing case. Earlier today, BCCI submitted before the Supreme Court that its chief N.Srinivasan will step aside to ensure a fair probe into illegal betting during last years Indian Premier League (IPL). BCCI also sought to assure the Supreme Court of initiating disciplinary proceedings on the basis of the recommendations of Mudgal committee report. BCCI also submitted that during Mr Srinivasans absence, the boards secretary, Sanjay Patel, will run the organization. Offering a time-bound inquiry, the board requested the court not to curtail Mr Srinivasans role in international cricket . Srinivasans son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan, who was a team official of Chennai Super Kings, has been indicted by a Supreme Court-appointed inquiry committee for betting and sharing team information. Earlier this week, the court, used strong language indicting Mr Srinivasan for not quitting office to ensure a fair probe of the Indian Premier League fixing and betting scandal.The BCCI was asked to file a detailed response by today.
