The Supreme Court in its proposal to the BCCI, said they must ban Chennai and Rajasthan from the T20 Cricket League and suggested former India captain Sunil Gavaskar take over after N Srinivasan reportedly told the Supreme Court that he was quitting. The Supreme Court also asked the board to remove all India Cements employees from their BCCI posts. India captain MS Dhoni, who has been accused of corrupt conduct for giving a false statement to the Mukul Mudgal committee, is a vice-president with India Cements. The BCCI has been asked to respond to the proposal on Friday. The T20-League will be left with just six teams if Chennai and Rajasthan are banned from playing in the tournament and it could be reduced to a mere 34 matches, unless the current format is revamped. The Supreme Court will pass an interim order at 10.30 AM tomorrow and it is understood that an investigation will be ordered. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court has deferred the hearing related to spot-fixing and betting in the T20-League to April 16, the date when the seventh edition of the T20 extravaganza starts.
