The Sweet started off as a glam rock era teen pop band, but once they broke off from their managements and started doing their own thing (a somewhat surprisingly sophisticated glam rock era proto-speed metal pop, kind of like Queen on their first or second albums), they were very credible hard rockers. And they were from Scotland, who after September 18th, may or may not be part of Great Britain.
