The Syrian Coalition pays tribute to the heroes of the Free Syrian Army as they defend Syrian civilians and land. The FSA have consistently demonstrated that the Syrian people, with the Syrian Coalition behind them, will always stand up for freedom, dignity, and Syria’s heritage, and resolutely defend holy sites in Syria from Assad’s brutal campaigns. After the heavy bombardment of the Khaldiyeh area of Homs, using thousands of rockets, explosive barrels and large amounts of heavy weaponry, provided to Assad from regional and international allies, Assad forces have managed to overtake a few yards of the land that they have pulverized. Such a tactical withdrawal by FSA fighters is not indicative of Assad’s ability to maintain control over the area. After suffering huge losses in Aleppo and Damascus, the Assad regime is attempting to lift the low morale of its militias by propagandizing and exaggerating its hollow victory in Homs. However, Assad holds only temporary control, until the FSA are ready to retake the area. We ask for mercy for our martyrs, health for our wounded, and freedom for our detainees. Long live Syria and its people, free and with honor.
