The #TEER Spirit Awards (#TSA) will return on our Founders Day, June 18! Our honoree for the 2014 Dr. Barbara Ann Teer Spirit Award for “Unleashing The Power Of Spirit” is Susan L. Taylor. Well regarded for her many years as the chief editor of Essence magazine, her achievements reach far beyond the world of publishing. Ms. Taylor is also an author, activist and founder of the National CARES Mentoring Movement. Under her leadership, the organization thrives in its mission to uplift the lives of youth in need. Her accolades include the Magazine Publishers of Americas Henry Johnson Fisher Award, the industrys highest honor (which she is the first and only African American woman to receive).
