The TVNZ report into the Shane Taurima affair is finally out. It found no evidence of bias in any of TVNZ’s programming however Mr Taurima is found to have had a conflict of interest and used TVNZ resources for Labour Party business. TVNZ accepts there were shortcomings in its management of Taurima when he returned to TVNZ, after standing in the Ikaroa-Rāwhiti by-election and it won’t let that happen again. But questions remain: Will Taurima now win the Tāmaki Makaurau ticket for Labour and will voters accept his claim he did nothing wrong? Heres the report: tvnz.co.nz/independent-report
