The Tennessee Transgender Political Coalition was contacted by a Professor at MTSU who is working on a research project dealing with health communication and trans healthcare experiences. She and her co-researchers are looking for more participants for their study. The letter below is self-explanatory. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Interview Participants Needed Hello! My name is Phillip Wagner and I am a Ph.D. Candidate in Communication Studies at the University of Kansas. Along with Dr. Adrianne Kunkel at the University of Kansas and Dr. Mary Beth Asbury at Middle Tennessee State University, I am conducting research on physician-patient communication between trans*patients and their healthcare providers. While some research has examined health communication, we believe that communication literature, especially, is lacking research on trans* healthcare issues. If you identify as trans* and are willing to participate in a phone or skype interview with one of us about your communication practices with healthcare professionals, please contact one of us (contact information below). The interview should take no longer than 45 minutes to complete. Additionally, if you know of others who identify as trans* and might be willing to participate in an interview, please forward this message along. If you have any questions about the study, the survey, or our research focus, please do not hesitate to contact me (information below). Thank you for your time! Best, Phillip E.
