The events, listed below, will in some cases take place before the actual Labor Day holiday, which is Monday, Sept. 2. All the events draw union families and friends, including politicians. In all cases, media are welcome. “It’s not just the hot sun that is heating up Texas as this Labor Day approaches,” said Texas AFL-CIO President Becky Moeller. “Our state is the focus of national union and political organizing efforts that have been a long time coming. Change is in the air and this is an exciting time to advocate for working families in Texas.” “One focus of our Labor Day events will be support for comprehensive immigration reform.
