The Texas Zoo is a fast paced and ever changing working environment that requires individuals with a strong dedication to conservation and education. Seeking a full-time Program Specialist. This position assists Program Manager in day-to-day operations of Programs Department. Core responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Development, scheduling, and presentation of educational and interpretive programs curriculum reflecting state guidelines (events, field trips, outreaches, camps, scouts, teacher workshops, etc.) - Media and marketing (newsletter, electric calendars, electronic communication) - Promotion of offered programming to schools - Event preparation and execution - Maintenance of education animal collection - Monitor birthday parties - Support gift shop/concession staff as needed - Volunteer coordination Work requires developed public speaking ability. Work requires computer literacy and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Applicant must be willing to work a non-traditional workweek including weekends and holidays. 2 years of experience in education and/or marketing strongly preferred. Salary based on qualifications.
