The The Ledger Independent - 31 December 2014 ZWEIGART HAS ABILITY, EXPERIENCE FOR JUDGE Dear editor: I would like to take this op- portunity to public endorse and ask your readers to vote for and elect my friend, Steve Zweigart,to the position of Dis- trict Judge for Bracken, Fleming and Mason counties. I have known Steve for more than 40 years and have abso- lutely no doubt that he has the ability, experience and tempera- ment to make an outstanding judge. I first met Steve as a ninth grader at Maysville High School. Although he had not attended the Maysville school system prior to that year, myself and other classmates recognized the leadership qualities that Steve displayed and elected him class president those first few weeks of our high school experience. Steve has always been a leader! Steve and I both chose to at- tend Transylvania University after high school. Steve decided early in his college career that he was more interested in sociology and criminal justice than he was in biology and chemistry, so our paths diverged. He has always had an interest in helping others and solving societies problems! Life brought our paths back together after Steve returned to Maysville in the late 1980’s. Steve had served in the United States Air Force, taught school and completed law school be- fore returning to start his law practice. Shortly after that he con- vinced me that I should volun- teer my time, as he was doing, with community service. We both became very involved with emergency management. Steve has always been involved with community service! I don’t recall for certain, but it was probably in the late 1990’s that I discussed the possibility of Steve becoming a judge. He had discussed several ideas that he had about programs and ways to improve the court system. Steve has always looked for ways to make improvements! It is for these reasons, as well as many others, that I feel Steve should get our vote on Nov. 4. He is experienced, compas- sionate, knowledgeable, and even-tempered and I have ab- solutely no doubt he will be fair, but firm, when dealing with the cases brought before the court.
