The Times of Prayer - Jesus last words to His disciples before He turned His face to the Cross is found in John 16:33 in the world you will have tribulation but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. To flee unto God is the only is the only stay which can support us in our afflictions, the only armor which renders us invincible. Pain is a factor in life , physical pain, emotional pain but even in the midst of our tribulations we have Christs promise, I have overcome the world and as followers of Christ we are overcomers. We draw upon His victorious strength through prayer. The words from Jeremiah 33:3 say call to me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things which you do not know. Gods phone number is Jer333 and many times in our lives we need to call God. Just liked in panic we call 911. The 911 operator is standing by to answer our emergency so is God standing by when we dial His number. Call to me and I will answer. Hannah did when she had no child, Nehemiah did when Jerusalem laid in ruins, Peter did while He faced death in prison, Moses raised his arms in prayer in the midst of a battle. Oh yes and even Jesus poured His heart out to the Father when He faced death on the Cross. So the one who possesses all the power of the universe stands ready in His love and mercy to answer us when we call on Him in prayer and if that isnt enough He is ready to show us great and might things. Things beyond our imagination. Oh Lord I call upon you this morning to spread this message of prayer to all who are hurting and in distress for Father you stand ready to answer their calls and mine. Be of good cheer we have overcome.
