A new survey of 2,144 people whove turned down marriage proposals asked them WHY they said no. These are the top five reasons . . . 1. An unromantic setting for the proposal. 2. A bad ring. 3. Bad wording on the proposal. 4. No faith in the relationship. 5. Being scared of the commitment. Its worth noticing there that the top three rejection reasons are all related to the proposal ITSELF, and not the status of the actual relationship. So apparently even a GOOD relationship can have a busted proposal. The survey also found that 39% of people rejected a public proposal . . . and the average number of people who witnessed them reject the proposal was 35.
