The Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) held a camp - TopicsExpress

The Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) held a camp recently called Good Grief Camp Out. This camp is for kids 6 to 17 who have lost a love one serving in the Armed Forces. At their most recent camp, the losses were all fathers who died from a mix of accidents, eight in combat in Iraq or Afghanistan, 12 fallen by disease or sudden death such as a heart attack, one victim of homicide and eight who took their own lives. There is a variety of activities kids participate in: arts and crafts, hiking, and swimming. The best part is they can sit down with a military mentor, grief counselors, and other kids and talk about their feelings. What an amazing camp!
