The TransCanada Energy East will be the longest pipeline running - TopicsExpress

The TransCanada Energy East will be the longest pipeline running from the tarsands across the prairie provinces, through Ontario and into Quebec to bring bitumen to ports on the St. Lawrence Seaway. From there, the tarry substance will be shipped .down the St. Lawrence to Euope and beyond. There is a great risk all along the way because the pipeline runs across waterways and isolated areas where spills will not be immediately detectable and turn-offs challenging. Leaks and spills are inevitable as the pipeline is old; the pipes are thing and open to corrosion. Energy East has the potential to destroy two of UNESCOs biosphere reserves -- the one in Hamilton, Ontario and the St. Lawrence Seaway. Let us all protest this envirornmentally dangerous
