Major Rodney Brown (..who is affectionately call Padre Brown at times) is a successful graduate of this training.. Congratulations Sir! What is the Chaplaincy? Military Chaplains are God’s representatives or ambassadors who offer spiritual care to all military / paramilitary communities who are in need and who have special education/training to mobilize spiritual resources so that persons/patients can cope in their environment. The Role of Military Chaplains Chaplain shall, when practicable, hold appropriate and regular religious services for the command to which he is assigned, and shall perform appropriate religious burial services for members of the Army who die while in that command. Chaplains shall perform their duties just as the best officers of the line or staff or medical profession go in to do their work. Basic Duties of Chaplains: • To provide Unit support • To provide Area/Family support • To provide distinctive faith group support • To provide denominational support • To Nurture the Living • To Care for the Wounded • And to Honor the Dead Incidentally the motto of the U.S. Army Chaplaincy is “For God and Country”. Currently chaplains represent over 120 denominations and faith groups in the US army however just one faith (Christians) and with two denominations (Anglican and Catholic) are currently officially represented in Trinidad and Tobago Military and Paramilitary services.
