The True Blue Tory vote is holding up in Rochester and Strood at - TopicsExpress

The True Blue Tory vote is holding up in Rochester and Strood at around 30%, but Labour is haemorrhaging support to UKIP, down 9 points in a month to 16%. It doesnt help that Labour have not run a full campaign. I can see most of Kent falling to UKIP in the general election as Labour fail to inspire those who should be their natural voters, the working class. UKIP proposes easy targets for their anger: migrants and the EU. It is very intetesting, however, to see that the NHS is voters core concern. Exposing UKIPs policies on health, and building a lively campaign to defend the NHS will be important for the left in the next six months if we are to halt the demoralised march to the right in British politics.
