The True Religion is the Church of Christ of which the Holy Scriptures or Bible is the Foundation of True Faith The Church is God’s Household: Although I hope to come to you soon, I am writing you these instructions so that, if I am delayed, you will know how people ought to conduct themselves in God’s household, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth. Beyond all question, the mystery from which true godliness springs is great: He appeared in the flesh, was vindicated by the Spirit, was seen by angels, was preached among the nations, was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory. - I Timothy 3:14-16 NIV The Church of Christ is the One Body of Christ where People are Reconciled to God at His Service: So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. - Ephesians 4:12 NIV For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, by setting aside in his flesh the law with its commands and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace, and in one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility. He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. - Ephesians 2:14-17 NIV Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. - I Corinthians 12:12 NIV According to Webster, the word “religion” means: “to tie back, the personal commitment to and serving of God or a god with worshipful devotion, conduct in accord with divine commands especially as found in accepted sacred writings or declared by authoritative teachers, a way of life recognized as incumbent on true believers, and typically the relating of oneself to an organized body of believers.” (Webster’s Third International Dictionary, p. 1918) Thus, it is erroneous to say that the “Church of Christ” (Roman 16:16) mentioned by the New testament of the Holy Scripture or Bible is not a religion. The true Church of Christ is indeed the true religion, or the true Christian religion. The Holy Scriptures or Bible is the Foundation of Faith of the True Church of Christ: About the Holy Scriptures or the Bible: In the first year of Darius son of Xerxes (a Mede by descent), who was made ruler over the Babylonian kingdom—in the first year of his reign, I, Daniel, understood from the Scriptures, according to the word of the LORD given to Jeremiah the prophet, that the desolation of Jerusalem would last seventy years. - Daniel 9:1-2 NIV When you come, bring the cloak that I left with Carpus at Troas, and my scrolls, especially the parchments. - II Timothy 4:13 NIV Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the Scriptures: “ ‘The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; the Lord has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes’? - Matthew 21:42 NIV Jesus replied, “You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God. - Matthew 22:29 NIV But how then would the Scriptures be fulfilled that say it must happen in this way?” - Matthew 26:54 NIV Haven’t you read this passage of Scripture: “ ‘The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; the Lord has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes’?” Mark 12:10-11 NIV Every day I was with you, teaching in the temple courts, and you did not arrest me. But the Scriptures must be fulfilled.” - Mark 14:49 NIV They asked each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?” - Luke 24:32 NIV And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself. - Luke 24:27 NIV After he was raised from the dead, his disciples recalled what he had said. Then they believed the scripture and the words that Jesus had spoken. - John 2:22 NIV Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” - John 7:38 NIV
