The U.S. Department of Education, Office of Civil Rights will be in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at Northeastern State University May 7 – 15 to investigate a “... generally hostile environment against Native Americans.” DoE-OCR has done a preliminary investigation and spoken with a handful of students, faculty, staff and determined there is sufficient evidence for a full “boots on the ground” investigation of the general racial atmosphere for Natives at NSU.
