The U.S. Governments #Hypocrisy with #MedicalMarijuana #CancerTruth Marijuana was once medically used in tinctures, prescribed by #AMA #doctors, and sold in legitimate #pharmacies. Only it then was properly called #hemp or #cannabis. Then came the #Marijuana Tax Act (MTA) to begin tolling the death knell for hemp in all forms, despite its having been used centuries for many purposes. This coup topped off bizarre false propaganda of marijuanas dangers, generated by industrial vested interests involving government insiders to keep the hemp plants amazingly wide array of products from competing with their interests. It had nothing to do with protecting the youth of America from drug abuse. Thus, marijuana, a Mexican slang term for hemp or cannabis, lulled the AMA counsel based in Washington, DC into complacency until passage of the Marijuana Tax Act had occurred in 1937. AMA counsel Dr. William Woodward had no idea that what legislators were referring to as marijuana was cannabis, and he complained that the bill was passed in secrecy without his input.
