The U12’s suffered only their second defeat of a tremendous season when they lost by eight points away to neighbours Dundrum. Although shorn of several regulars and having no subs young Niamh King stepped in to help out. The Fin had wind advantage in the first half but it was Dundrum who got the first goal and who led 1-2 to 0-1 after ten minutes. Conall King was in inspired form to score 1-4 with Cathal Murphy grabbing 0-2 and Ruari King grabbing a point before he had to leave the field with his 8 year old sister Niamh coming on to see out the rest of the half. Half time score Dundrum 1-2 Aughlisnafin 1-7. In the second half Dundrum dominated the proceedings with the wind picking up to allow them to hit some superb scores from distance. The Fin to their credit never stopped working and through Conor Mathews 0-1, Morgan Croskery 0-1 and Conal King 0-1 they kept the scoreboard ticking over. A late rally saw the Fin get a goal to pull back the deficit but Dundrum had enough to see out the win. Final score Dundrum 3-14 Aughlisnafin 2-9. Aughlisnafin: A Flanagan, A Lenaghan, M Croskery (0-1,1 ‘25), M Quinn, C Matthews (0-1), R King (0-1), C Murphy (0-2, 1f), C King (1-5, 1f), C Steen, M Flanagan, D Burns Sub: N King.
