The U13s entertained Buntingford yesterday with the Comets going into the game with a 100% record so far in the league. The lads certainly showed why as we took the game to Buntingford from the off. The Comets broke through on a number of occasions but were unfortunate not to get the goals they deserved, however believe it or not we actually scored from a Charlie corner with James swooping in to hit us into a 1-0 lead. We then moved up a gear and started to dominate with some great attack play from Ethan, Alex, Charlie, William and Bailey. There was also some great back play from Evan and the defence who were playing like an old Arsenal back 4! With all our pressure Buntingford could not cope and we soon made it 2-0 with Bailey heading on for Ethan to run through and score. Minutes later Charlie crossed into the box and there was Bailey to shoot home for 3-0 at half time. In the 2nd half the lads played at a slower pace but still kept overall control of the game. There were a couple of hiccups but either the Defence cut the ball out Matt took control of his area and claimed any balls over the top. Despite hitting the woodwork 3 times in the second half, we struggled to get hold of the game to the same extent of the 1st half, however we did score another to make it 4-0 with Charlie hitting the ball into the bottom corner after a pass from William. The game should have had more goals but the Comets train keeps rolling on with 3 out of 3 wins and a great work rate ethos from all the boys who have played so far. MOM was Evan for his outstanding 1st half play but again the whole side was outstanding, well done.... Matt, Dan, Jake, James, Raul, Evan, Ethan, Alex, William, Charlie, Bailey, Joseph C. My Sundays have never been this good!
