The UAE student Reject Shaking Hands with French Foreign Minister During his visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) recently, French Foreign Minister, Laurent Fabius, taking the time to visit the Abu Dhabi branch of the Sorbonne University. When meeting with students at the university, Laurent Fabius reached out to one veiled student to shake hands with him, but the student was refused a polite manner as she raised his right hand and smiled. It was narrated that Ma’qil ibn Yassaar said: the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “For one of you to be stabbed in the head with an iron needle is better for him than that he should touch a woman who is not permissible for him.” (Narrated by al-Tabaraani in al-Kabeer, 486.
