The UPS delivery guy just delivered my latest photography gadget - a monopod (essentially a one-legged tripod). It is a Gitzo GM3551 carbon fiber monopod with a Kirk MPA-2 head, and I plan to use it with my Nikon 80-400 mm zoom lens. So I opened the boxes and put it together, and got out my camera & lens and took a photo of the set-up in the front hall mirror. Then I went out in the backyard to see if there was anything to photograph, and of course, there was a Great Blue Heron standing on our new seawall (by all the goose poop). So I fired off a few photos -- I think that this new set-up is going to be OK!
