The US Census Bureau put out a report on changes in concentrated poverty 2000-2010 showing the concentration of poverty in poverty areas/neighborhoods has increased. Demographically, in the decade, more than 50% of Blacks, Hispanics, Amer Indian, & Alaskans were in poverty (not new news). But among all whites experienced the largest increase. Increases in all 4 regions, but The Midwest nearly doubled, although the highest concentration is Mississippi 48.5% to the lowest in New Hampshire 6.8%. D.C. had the greatest decline, although they had 67% of ppl in poverty living in poverty areas. Whereas other states there was greater concentration of ppl not in poverty living in poverty areas. This validates the dissolution of the middle class, how poverty doesnt have a face anymore, how so many are struggling which has almost eliminated social class segregation. You are either rich or wealthy, or paycheck to paycheck, true story.
