The USKFI would like to say congratulations to our junior squad members who competed in the Liverpool Youth Championships over the weekend. As always the team performed very well and as a result came home with a large haul of prizes. Results are as follows: Leeanne Royle - Gold Girls Kumite over 55 & Silver Childrens Brown & Black Belt Kata Aoife Salmon - Gold Girls Ippon Kumite Ray Foysal - Silver Boys Ippon Kumite Sean O Connor - Silver Cadets Kumite Sophie Farrell - Bronze Childrens Kata Novice - 4th Kyu Brendan Reys - Silver Childrens Kata Novice - 4th Kyu Lee Mc Carty Bronze Cadets Kumite USKFI Team Kata A Gold (Captain Leeanne Royle, Mapalo Mwenya & Karl Rennicks) USKFI Team Kata B Bronze (Captain James Doran, Evan Wynne & Ciaran O Connor) The USKFI would like to thank our squad coaches Sensei Michael Sherlock and Sensei David Royle for their constant hard work with the USKFI squad members and of course within the USKFI. We would like to thank our international referees Sensei Jennifer Prendergast, Sensei Bernard Gaffney & Sensei Jim Bartley for constantly striving for a higher level in their field. We would also like to send a special thank you to USKFI secretary Jennifer Prendergast for all her hard work organising a brilliant weekend. We would finally like to thank our instructors, members and parents for their continued support. As always hard work pays off and this is a clear example of it. Well done all!! The United Shotokan Karate Federation of Ireland fully fund all trips away for our squad members, from flights, accommodation, meals to their squad kit. Without the very good structure we have in place & the constant support from our members this would not be a possibility therefore we would like take this opportunity to thank each and every member for their support over the years.
