In August we wrapped up this $19.6 million project, which included resurfacing the runway, replacing the airstrip lighting and adding safety areas and perimeter fencing. In addition, the runway was extended by 400 ft, making it possible for larger aircraft, such as the SAAB 340B, to land and takeoff with full fuel and cargo loads. The project also improved airspace clearance over Ballyhoo Road by extending the shoreline 200 ft further into Dutch Harbor. #DutchHarbor #upgrades
