The Uncanny Valley is used in reference to the phenomenon whereby a computer-generated figure or humanoid robot bearing a near-identical resemblance to a human being arouses a sense of unease or revulsion in the person viewing it. If youve ever watched Tom Hanks Polar Express youll know exactly what Im talking about. Its a tough psychological issue and one that will have to be addressed before anthropomorphized robots become routine in our daily lives.
