The UnderGround Style vs. Style Series: Kyokushin vs. Muay Thai When he was 11, Shiratori Taiju, from Narushima Ryus Nishitama Dojo in Tokyo, went to China to compete vs. 11-year-old-ish Shanshou stylist Ka Bun Tou. Now 12 years old, Taiju goes to Thailand. The fight in China was two rounds with a Sanshou orientation to one for Kyokushin. In this contest the rules were far closer to Kyokushin rules than Muay Thai Rules. Theres an old saying that it is the fighter that matters, not the style. Maybe its the rules that really matter.
