The Unit Ministry Team from 1-228 Aviation Regiment Winged Warriors Battalion and the Religious Support Team from Joint Task Force JTF Bravo led 187 U.S. personnel at Army Support Activity - Soto Cano AB, Honduras in a voluntary humanitarian outreach to the village of Mira Valle. The village is located in the department of La Paz, just over 4 miles from the airbase. Volunteers packaged over a ton of food and supplies on December 12. On December 13, the volunteers carried the supplies to the village in a chapel-led hike. The volunteers delivered over 2,500 pounds of food, clothing and dry goods. They also distributed 9 soccer balls and 2 piñatas to provide some Christmas joy to the children. The event strengthened the U.S. forces’ relationship with their neighbors, assisted the residents of Mira Valle, built esprit de corps and a sense of community among the participants and contributed to spiritual resiliency by providing the participants an opportunity to be part of something greater than themselves. #SelflessService #MilitaryMonday
