The United Nations Information Service in Geneva, in collaboration with the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies will organize a screening “One Humanity” as the second edition of Ciné-ONU on the occasion of Nelson Mandela International Day. The screening will take place in Room XVII of the Palais des Nations on Friday, 18 July 2014 at 5 p.m. The film, which will be shown in its original English version, without sub-titles, tells the story of how the world came to focus on the ending of the apartheid regime in South Africa through two star-studded concerts that were broadcast around the world. The screening will be followed by a debate on the global fight against apartheid featuring: Michael Møller, Acting Director-General, of the UN Office at Geneva; Navi Pillay, United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights; Abdul Samad Minty, Permanent Representative of South Africa to the UN in Geneva and Andrea Bianchi, Professor of International Law at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies.
