The United States Navy (USN) is the naval warfare service branch of the United States Armed Forces and one of the seven uniformed services of the United States. It was estimated to be larger than the next 13 largest navies combined in terms of battle fleet tonnage in 2009.[5][6] The U.S. Navy also has the worlds largest aircraft carrier fleet, with ten in service, two under construction,[7] eight more planned, and two in active reserve.
