The United States has the wherewithal to engage simultaneously in two 10+ year wars. The righties in Congress and elsewhere are complaining because we havent gone to war with Syria, Iran, Russia, and Lichtenstein. We also have funds to provide subsidies to highly profitable corporations like ExxonMobil and ADM, some of which are now renouncing their ties to the United States to evade taxes and increase already bloated profits. But somehow this nation of over 330,000,000 people, all of whom are or are descended from immigrants, cant seem to find the resources to provide shelter for and absorb 50,000 refugees, most of whom are children. Why is it so easy for this country to find funds for wars or to pad corporate profits but virtually impossible to find the resources and the will to help the most vulnerable and needy? Maybe its because those people dont have PACs or lobbyists.
