The University of Pretoria have arrived in Nelspruit for the team’s preparations ahead of the Gauteng Cup, which will ultimately be their fundamental preseason training ahead of the 2013/14 Absa Premiership season. AmaTuks finally seem to have filled the void left by SuperSport United striker Mame Niang, with the signings of Lucky Mathosi, from SAFA Second Division outfit Rustenburg Sea Eagles Football Club, and Obadiah Tarumbwa, who has joined on a three-year deal from Kenyan Premier League Club Sofapaka. With Fikru Tefera also being snapped up, AmaTuks will have options available to coach Steve Barker in attack. Tefera, who was released from Free State Stars at the end of the 2012/13 PSL campaign, was signed by the team after impressing Barker and his technical team while on trial. AmaTuks’ captain Tebogo Monyai and Dipsy Selolwane have both signed new contracts with the club, which will be a huge boost for the team. Apart from Niang, Tuks also parted ways with Dumisani Ngwenya, David Radebe, Thokozani Sekotlong and Diyo Sibisi at the end of the 2012/2013 season.
