The Urgent Call For Youth Engagement in our Political Process and Leadership Below is an excerpt of a keynote address I gave to Cameroonian youth leaders. It is time that we proactively get involved in building our country: "...Dear youth leaders, we are here today because tomorrow is the reason. We are here today because while others have spent time talking, we have spent time working. We are here today because we have also experienced failures and disappointments, but did not fail to learn the lessons which we transformed and are still transforming to make the best out of the worst. Yes! If we are here today, it is because we have been knocked down many times while pursuing our visions, but have never been knocked-out by situations and people who make sport in pulling down the number ones. As leaders, we are time and again expected to be out of the comfort zone. The safest place for ships is the harbour or the port, but this is not where they were built to be. We are here today because we are ships that are called to sail the raging sea and safely navigate our country to a destination which is the dream of every Cameroonian..." By Nfinyo T.
