To the extent that Sir Robert McAlpine was able as a consultant to advise the Crossbow Committee on juuuust the right time to bomb. When the concrete was not too wet, not too dry, but just semi-set at a stage where allied bombing would smash hell out of the bloody thing and render it completely inoperable and beyond repair. Which allied bombing successfully did, thank God! Used later by the USAF for target practice. Now a fabulous museum for those who fancy a 30 minute drive from Calais.
